Modern art between portraiture and mythology
Modern art offers space for interpretation, transformation and personal expression. In my works, I combine the classical discipline of portrait painting with elements from mythology - and bring
both into a contemporary, artistic context.
The focus is usually on expressive heads or faces that show more than mere resemblance: emotion, history and symbolism. The figures appear enraptured, almost spherical - often inspired by
mythological figures such as the Roman Aurora, goddess of dawn, or other archetypal motifs.
My paintings are created with acrylic paints on canvas - a medium that allows me to work out both luminous color gradients and fine details. The canvas serves as a projection surface for inner
images that move between reality and fantasy.
The combination of modern portrait art and mythological imagery opens up a multi-layered approach for the viewer: sometimes calm, meditative faces, sometimes powerful gazes from another time. Each work is unique - created in an exciting dialog between classical themes and modern painting.
